Highlight of the tour
Travel to the largest freshwater swamp forest in Malaysia along Kinabatangan River and the largest wildlife reserved forest in Tabin with their uniqueness of dawn to dusk birding and wildlife searching activities. A boat ride along Kinabatangan River has a chance to witness wild orang-utans making their way slowly through the canopy of riverside trees. We can also watch troops of the bizarre Proboscis Monkey crashing through the branches, these comical creatures often sit on the trees and watch us float by, hands resting beside their huge pot bellies and the males with extraordinary floppy nose.In addition we may see Long-tailed Macaques and occasional Silvered Langurs and there is always a chance of coming across a herd of Bornean Pygmy Elephants in this area.Boat ride at night time being one of the highlight in the trip, witnesses the wildlife resting at night.
Tabin Wildlife Reserve, home to an amazingly rich diversity of wildlife and birds due to the abundance of food plants. The relatively low canopy allows sufficient natural light to make bird viewing and photography a rewarding experience. It is also a vital conservation area for wildlife, particular the critical endangered Sumatran Rhinoceros, The Bornean Pygmy Elephant and Orang-utans.At night, followed by a trip to look for nocturnal birds and wildlife. The Brown Wood Owl, Buffy Fish Owl and Eagles are some of the species that you may sight along the roadside. The Flying Lemur, leopard Cat, Civets cats, the nomadic Bearded Pig, Red Giant Flying Squirrel and perhaps even to the Clouded Leopard and slow loris may be sighted.
